Now Is A Good Time is an exhibition of artworks by differently-abled artist collaborations, presented at Uma Seminyak in Bali. It was the product of a four-month curatorial residency between Singapore, Georgetown in Malaysia, Cebu in the Philippines and Bali, Indonesia.
The project is an examination into art and inclusivity in order to involve differently-abled people in the creative economy. It was initiated by social enterprise Ketemu Project and partner CoCreation Workshop.
The exhibition was an opportunity to develop tech-based solutions for an empowered future, such as a sound reactive prototype for the deaf with artist koloWn. Artworks in other mediums were also presented, including a metal and glass sculpture of a slide and swing with Malaysia-based artists Sliz and Kelvin. It was an inquiry into social constructions of play and children with physical disabilities.
